DAY 0 - My flight to Miami will be boarding shortly
Even though the glass is scratched, I am happy to have a window seat
Off I go into the wild blue yonder
The Pacific Coast from El Segundo to Palos Verdes
Home then and now...
...Hollywood Riviera and Palos Verdes
Clouds over Lunada Bay
Rain is in the forecast
Portuguese Bend (Burma Road, one of my training trails, can be seen in these hills)
Trump National - golf course formerly known as Ocean Trails
This is the Long Beach site of one of the Nike training runs
Valerie and I arrive at The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne in the evening. Though Valerie has been in Florida all week, this is her first night staying in the Miami area
DAY 1 - The view from our room is nothing special
At least you can see the ocean from the balcony
You can see the pool if you lean over the edge
For lunch, we decide to leave the hotel
Valerie will be my driver today
She has been enjoying her rental car and has been eager to show it to me
I would be driving this if this was her rental
The convertible Beetle seems made for her
Leaving The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne...for now
Crandon Blvd, the island's primary thoroughfare
After lunch, we drive around the island and find this bridge
