DAY 1 - Sunrise over Amara Creekside Resort
The Grand Canyon tour bus arrives, but this one isn't taking us
Our bus heads up the steep Amara Creek Resort driveway
Heading north from Sedona on 89A
This twisting road would have been fun in the NSX
High shutter speed shot of Ponderosa Pine Trees
Another high shutter shot of the forest
Valerie gets ready to head inside the trading post
Cameron panorama

A dog follows me as I wander around taking pictures
Cameron suspension bridge over Little Colorado River
The dog finds something in the bush
This abandoned suspension bridge parallels its modern counterpart
Time to meet up with Valerie at the trading post
We continue west on Navahopi Road, paralleling the Little Colorado
Little Colorado panorama
A short time after entering Grand Canyon National Park, our tour bus park near the Desert View Tower and we proceed on foot
This tower is built upon the highest point along the Grand Canyon's south rim. Judging from the mid-40 degree temperatures, I'm guessing this is also the coldest spot...it's a good thing we brought jackets!
Valerie and I stand at the lookout point located just below the tower...this photo, taken by our tour guide, looks north along the eastern-most end of the canyon
From where we stood in the previous picture, I snap the largest panorama I've ever taken...twelve shots that proved far more difficult to stitch than I ever imagined!
Since the tower ascends from the highest spot on the south rim, we must climb it as high as we can go
There's no viewing deck on top, but there are windows worth stopping at
This window looks towards the west
