DAY 10 - I run up Rue de l'Abreuvoir past La Maison Rose in Montmartre
Place du Tertre. During my previous trip to Paris, there were no cafes in the center of the square...just artists.
Another visit to Basilique du Sacré-Cœur
I'm trying my best to avoid running on cobblestones...though the ones near Sacre Coure aren't nearly as bad as those I've found elsewhere in the city
I take in the view before heading down the steps and ramps. Unlike my previous run here, I do not plan to turn back once I reach the bottom.
I head west on Boulevard de Rochechouart. I think I missed a turn or two. I didn't expect to see Moulin Rouge again this trip!
I pass an apple globe sitting upon a glass box as I turn on to Boulevard de Clichy
Just crossed over the Montmartre cemetery...which I remember crossing on our way to Moulin Rouge the other night. I must be going the wrong way (if I continue, I might end up back at the apartment)
Heading back down Rue Caulaincourt to Boulevard de Clichy, once again crossing over Cimetière de Montmartre (Montmartre Cemetary)
After returning to Boulevard de Clichy I turn down Rue Blanche and run by Eglise de la Trinité. This church is not part of my planned route, but it is in the right direction.
Passed by Galeries Lafayette and now stand before Palais Garnier...neither along my original route, but at least I'm in familiar territory
Hôtel du Louvre from Place du Théatre Français
Almost there. Stay on target.
My watch reads 5 miles when I reach the Louvre...this should have been less than 5km. Not really a huge issue since I'm fully capable of running a lot longer. Resuming my original plan to run through Jardin des Tuileries and back to the apartment via the most direct route I can manage from Place de la Concorde
Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel
Quadriga (digital zoom)
Under Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel
Leaving the Louvre
Entering Jardin des Tuileries. Had I reached this park via my planned direct route, I would have considered orbiting it. Now I plan to run straight through the middle.
Grand Bassin Rond. I forgot about the fountains. Guess I can't exactly run straight through.
Bassin Octogonal. During my last visit, I remember people playing with remote control sailboats in one of these fountains, but no one is doing that in either today.
