DAY 10 - View of the pool from our room at La Residence d'Angkor before sunrise
Another morning, another breakfast buffet
No pain au chocolat this morning, just croissants
Juices
Espresso
Today's noodle soup is Kuy Teav with pork. I liked it better with beef.
Siem Reap River has spilled over into the appropriately named River Road and up the driveway of our hotel's porte-cochère.
There is a dry patch at the highest spot on the driveway, but that's about it.
A tree between river and road along River Road
Really shallow depth of field at F1.8...the tree and water matching that distance is in focus, but everything else is not. At least the high shutter speed has negated blur from our vehicle's motion.
A Honda Wave makes waves
Some monkeys follow our vehicle as we enter the Angkor Conservation Area
Chen, Valerie, and I approach cross Angkor Wat's moat from the east
Angkor Wat east gate. Most Khmer temples were built facing east, but Angkor Wat faces west. This is the rear entrance.
Cows lie near Angkor Wat's outermost wall
Aspara engraving on the southeast corner of the east gate
Looking back from the corner towards the center of the east gate

It is not raining...and the middle section of the path to Angkor Wat remains mostly dry. As we approach the temple, Chen points me to a spot where a tree blocks the scaffolding.
Angkor Wat's quincunx of towers are all within view from this spot
