DAY 08 (continued) - A cave of clouds over Cambodia

There is something ominous looking about the weather below

On final approach to Siem Reap, I catch a glimpse of a river through a rare break in the clouds...perhaps the Mekong?

Upon arriving in Siem Reap (and after a bit of a scare going through immigration), Valerie and I meet up with our tour guide Chen and driver Polo. Chen tells us our timing is not perfect, but we are not too late. Tourism has not yet spoiled Cambodia. We are just slow. Polo drops us at La Residence d'Angkor so we can check in. Upon entering our room...

...Valerie and I immediately notice the very appropriate "do not disturb" and "make up room" signs.

This room is huge! By sliding the privacy screen, you can open up the room even more.

The bathroom alone is huge...the toilet is concealed behind the door to my right

There may only be one sink, but there is more than enough space for two

The bathtub / shower occupies a space larger than some bathrooms, but that glass divider seems a bit too small to be functional

Even the rolls of toilet paper are concealed

A chocolaty amenity draws my interest

A fruity amenity draws Valerie's

DAY 09 - Valerie and I head down to La Residence d'Angkor's breakfast buffet
