DAY 3 (continued) - Once again, we gaze upon ferries crossing through Active Pass
Family and friends have returned to the Mayne Island Lighthouse for a mini-golf tournament
Since Valerie, dad, and I will be catching a ferry, we cannot participate in the tournament
Valerie has elected to stay at Ojiichan's while I take pictures
As usual, Dad will capture the action on video
Ali gets some last minute practice before the golf tournament begins
Juergen gets in a practice round as well
The sun is out now, but rain could fall again
A pod of killer whales travels alongside one of the BC Ferries
The ferry's passengers are obviously out on deck whale watching today
Too bad I'm not on THAT ferry...I'm just a bit too far away to get a good shot of the orca's tail
I also catch a distant shot of a breaching killer whale
I head as far out on the rocks as I can to get closer shots of the whales
The pods of orca's have caught the attention of other boats in the vicinity
This orca is likely a male
A pair of females
This sea lion sticks close to shore, well aware of the nearby predators
Another male passes really close to shore
More females, more whale watchers
They all appear to be heading towards Tsawwassen
I can't believe how many we are seeing in such a short period of time
