DAY 3 (continued) - Dad takes us to visit Ojiichan before we head home
We head inside the Nikkei Home
With Ojiichan expecting our arrival, we are surprised to bump into him in the hall outside of his room
Valerie asks Ojiichan where he was going
Mom, Valerie, and I gave Ojiichan this clock for his birthday
Valerie has us recreate our Iwasaki Totem (me, dad, ojiichan)
Time to say sayonara to Ojiichan (and soon to dad). Ojiichan follows us out so he can get started on his rounds. Note the bags in his walker...he appears to be re-gifting his birthday treats!
Dad drops us off at U.S. Departures
I'd be excited if Internet access was free
Few people are traveling today
We still have nearly two hours to kill
What can we do to pass the time? I took a lot of photos around this airport during our last visit!
Ahh...the siren calls
Valerie orders our favorite Frappucino
Carmmmmmmmel
We board our flight 25 minutes before departure
Awaiting permission to take off...40 minutes late
Lift off!
Vancouver skyline becomes visible
Over sea
Looking towards Whistler
Turning to the south
We can see Galiano Island below. The sun's angle isn't going to make for pretty pictures, but, since this trip was for Ojiichan, I must include shots of Mayne Island (bottom left-corner of this shot)
We're looking straight towards the sun as we leave Mayne Island (lower right)
