DAY 12 - I am up really early this morning (that's the moon in this picture)
Morning from our room in the Napili Wing
Before I go, I make it a point to get a picture of Carly, the hotel's cat
I find her bathing in the Main Lobby
Carly is another reason to love this hotel
And this hotel is a great place for a cat (or human) to relax
Hoping to beat the morning rush, Valerie and I head over to Gazebo before they open, but there's already a line
Even though it takes more than ten minutes to be seated, Valerie is happy...
...because she finally gets to enjoy their pineapple-mac nut-banana pancakes!
Both of us enjoy the full stack today (my second this trip)
We see a rainbow when we leave the restaurant
After breakfast, I snap this shot just outside of the The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua's Main Lobby
Shortly after Valerie and I return to OGG (Kahului Airport), our flight arrives at the gate
Crackberry addict!
When Valerie initially booked our flight, she had not noticed that our seats were not together. Fortunately, two were available when we checked-in this morning. Yea!
Why is it that I almost always get a seat over the wing?
Getting ready to depart
We lift off before passing the control tower
I think this is where I ran the first leg of the Hana Relay
Less than a minute after takeoff, we are over water
Our eastbound flight initially parallels the northern coast of Maui
Baldwin Beach and the Maui Country Club
Paia is in the bottom right corner (just missed getting a shot of the main street)
Mama's Fish House (center, along the coast)
Looking back across the Valley Isle
Kealii Point and the Uaoa Bay (Haleakala pokes through the clouds)
The Big Island comes into view as we head out over the clouds
One last glimpes of the Big Island and then it is time to put the camera away
