DAY 3 (continued) - I am relieved to see my Model X this morning. One of the things I love about this car is that I can monitor its location and charging status from the phone app...but I lost connection with it overnight! Had to reboot the center console to get the car communicating again.
Today's destination is in the Napa Valley. Valerie and my last visit to the region was with my car club in 2003. I don't think we went further north than Yountville, but some of the drive up Highway 29 looked familiar.

Chef's Daily Soup Sandwich and Treat: potato leak soup, pastrami on sourdough, homemade chocolate cookie
I really enjoy the soup, the pastrami is quite tasty (would have liked a little more meat), and the cookie provides a nice finish

After lunch, we continue north on Saint Helena Highway. Since Tom is driving, I look for photo-worthy vistas, but harsh shadows have already consumed the valley floor

Harvest happened months ago...December is far from the ideal time for photopraphing a vineyard
We have stopped at Dutch Henry Winery. All of the visitors appear to be having a really good time.
