DAY 2 (continued) - When we get back to our room, we find a fruit amenity...someone knows Valerie all too well
Valerie's friend Phuong has a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and champagne delivered to our room
Chocolate anyting is my kind of amenity!
Tonight we dine at Lers Ros Thai
Of course we order family style...my contribution, as usual, is pad kee mao with beef
Valerie selects pad thai with shrimp since Mai expressed interest in ordering it, but...
...Mai decides she wants yellow curry with chicken instead
Phuong's contribution was delish (I think it was pad phed with beef...not something Valerie or I had ever had before)
Chicken with vegetables
Tonight's dinner group: JoAn, Valerie, Eric, Mai, Phuong, and Mike (You can see in this picture that we also shared an order of Tom Yum Koong. We would have ordered mango sticky rice for dessert, but they did not have it today)
Crossing Powell Street while walking back to the hotel, I almost manage to get a good shot of a cable car
We reach Union Square
This is my first time seeing Union Square decorated for Christmas...
...and Hanukkah
macy's
Of course there is ice skating in Union Square...though I am a bit surprised that San Francisco has two outdoor skating rinks located so close to one another (the other being near Embarcadero Center)
Neiman Marcus
Almost home
DAY 3 - I step outside for another brisk run through the streets of San Francisco
It's another beautiful day in the city by the bay...but it is damn cool in the shade
I'm still waiting for my Garmin watch to lock on to the GPS signal. I need to move away from the building
