Our coastline road trip actually begins in Northern California as we depart from NSXPO 2003
The exhausting four day long NSXclusive club gathering took place north of San Francisco in San Rafael, Napa, and Sacramento Click here for more NSXcentric photos of our post-NSXPO road trip
Once we cross the Golden Gate Bridge, we drive through San Francisco towards our first coastal destination - Half Moon Bay
The five star treatment begins as soon as we enter our room at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay
Valerie's coworkers must have said something about her upcoming birthday...
...because we find a birthday card and these appetizing chocolate-covered strawberries!
Mmmmmmm - they taste as good as they look (Valerie shared them with me)
Having spent the past few days in lesser accomodations, we really appreciate the whole Ritz-Carlton experience...
...and, since we're both physically drained, we especially look forward to the sleeping on Frette linens
After sleeping in, I head outside to take pictures of our room's patio
On our last trip through Half Moon Bay (nearly two years ago), we stayed in the main hotel...
...but this time we've been upgraded to the bungalows (we even had our very own fireplace)
Here's a panoramic view looking south from the bungalows towards the main hotel (Photostitched)
We never left the hotel on our last visit, so we decide to eat lunch at this cafe on Main Street (amazing mochas and a huge portions - highly recommended)
After recharging our batteries, we stroll down Main Street
This Photostitched panorama features the oldest house still standing in Half Moon Bay - Circa 1859 (Photostitched)
After walking for about 15 minutes, we realize there really isn't much to see...
...other than some jewelry shops, antique stores, and places to buy Halloween decorations (we can't pick up souvenirs because we've already filled every nook and cranny of the NSX)
Valerie poses for a picture before we head back across the bridge towards where we parked...
....and I pose for a shot by the sign for John L. Carter Memorial Park
I wonder why this statue depicts someone carrying a large pumpkin
Apparently, Half Moon Bay hosts an annual pumpkin festival - in fact, the World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off took place this morning (too bad we slept in)
As we drive away from Main Street, we get stuck behind pickups carrying large pumpkins...
