I could use a few more hours of sleep, but Val looks wide awake (we had to be at her hotel by 5:30am to catch the bus taking us to Mountain High)
Val's Business Travel coworker Megann (with boyfriend Mark) is along for the ride...
...as is Val's boss Aileen (who takes advantage of the two-hour ride to get a bit more sleep)
The sun rises over the San Gabriel Mountains (as seen across Interstate 10)
Along the 138, we find interesting rock formations...
...an ocassional home...
...and a touch of snow on the horizon (but doesn't this look more like desert than the mountains?)
We're almost there...today we're heading to Mountain High's West Resort
While many in our group rent gear, Val tests whether he is goofy or regular

The snow guns are working overtime this morning to make sure Wyatt (pictured) and other runs have excellent coverage
Val finds it amusing that Ed fell after getting off the chairlift
Ed looks ready to go now...
...but he falls again at the end of the run
Get up! We're waiting for you
Val and I unexpectedly bump into Marc, a friend we've barely seen in the past year (and haven't gone skiing with since February, 2003). He joins us for lunch so we can catch up on lost time

Charlie's bad hair day
During lunch, Marc and his friend told me that they had stumbled across the best runs...
...so I decide to follow them. We shoot down Trestles and then go separate ways

The snow guns are no longer blowing over Wyatt
