DAY 1 - With conditions this nice, Valerie and I are feeling pretty adventurous...
...so we decide to try a run off of Chair 9
Unfamiliar with the runs here, I pick a route that gets pretty flat...
...forcing us to hike a bit
Hmmm...there's no easy way down from here...
...but Valerie would rather attempt a black diamond run than hike
She leads us down Dry Creek...
...where we encounter powdery soft moguls
With fresh snow, sunny skies, and calm winds, I decide to finally brave the Cornice
As I start my first ever descent from this peak, I stop to capture the view
Moguls rattle my confidence, so I ride an edge nearly all the way down
DAY 2 - We park next to our Pilot's twin, but this trip it's purely coincidence
Though it hasn't snowed since Friday, cold temperatures have kept everything powdery soft
When I see it has been groomed, I rush over to the Cornice
Though the middle section is nice and smooth, I still can't bring myself to turn until I'm halfway down
I meet up with Val and head over to the Outpost Cafe
After taking black diamond runs off of Chair 14, we return to a busy Main Lodge
Valerie has been smiling a lot today...
...because she's almost keeping up with me
For this trip we've been taking Lower Dry Creek when traversing between Canyon Lodge and Mill Cafe
Someone wipes out in front of Valerie
As we wrap up another great day at Mammoth, we meet a beggin' dog at Little Eagle
DAY 3 - On Monday, crowds are scarce...
...even at Main Lodge
