After my run, I backtrack to meet up with Valerie...who also made it past the pier on her walk. As we walk, two planes towing advertisements make slow passes near the beach.
Air and noise pollution
Since we are closer to The Riviera Village than our car, Valerie and I decide to walk the streets and consider one of the restaurants here as our lunch destination. This is Table Manners...occupying the former spot of Chez Melange.
The Hook and Plow appears to be quite the spot in the Riviera Village...it was packed when I ran by here on Mother's Day and it is packed today. Valerie and I would have tried dining here, but the wait for an outside table is over an hour...so we decide to try The Flyin Fin next door instead.
First sashimi of the pandemic...Flyin Fin's Sashimi Platter Petite...the salmon in particular is excellent. The platter is served with miso soup and a small salad with a tasty ginger vinegrette. Not pictured, Valerie had a seaweed salad and I had a cucumber salad as refreshing starters.
The Flying Fin Roll...particularly enjoyed how the jalapeno's brought a touch of heat
Mega Omega 3 Roll...enjoyed the sweetness, but there was perhaps a bit too much sauce (making it hard to fully appreciate the flavor from the fish)
