Parking at the Coliseum can be a pain, but I have never parked in the Blue Structure before. This underground lot is conveniently located just a few steps from the Coliseum peristyle and the California Science Center...who knew? Traffic wasn't too bad getting here either...took just over 30 minutes. Of course, that may be more due to the current state of USC football and the on going pandemic.

We still have some time to kill before we go inside, but I cannot resist peeking through the fence. There's some kind of dinner gathering around the "Olympic Gateway"..

I think the Banc of California Stadium was built since the last time I attended a game at the Coliseum. That said, I parked on the opposite side of the Coliseum for that game and simply may not have known this even existed.

I have not visited the California Science Center in years. The IMAX Theater is now adjacent to this entrance, this structure has been completely renovated, and there's a Space Shuttle displayed inside.

I think this is the first time I've stood directly under the peristyle before and, thanks to the recent restoration, it looks glorious

A plaque recognizes Jesse Owens' achievements at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games

Another plaque is in memory of the Israeli athletes that lost their life to terrorists at the 1972 games in Munich, Germany

The ultra wide lens isn't wide enough to capture the entire stadium or even all of Scholarship Club Tower, the primary addition of the recent renovation

The renovation really cleaned up the stadium's iconic peristyle. The clutter that has been increasing since the 1984 Olympics has been removed...

...clutter which included the large scoreboard and video screen that were installed for those Summer Games
