As is often the case, I only brought the long lens on the DSLR...so I must use the smartphone for wide establishing shots like this of Santa Catalina Island
This is the widest I can go with my current lens because I am using the 1.4x extender (and I really don't want to risk getting more dust inside)
Sun seems brighter than usual...a bit too hard to balance the exposure between shadowed foreground and the sun
View to the east
Palos Verdes from Portuguese Point to Point Fermin...can even see the Lighthouse and Korean Friendship Bell
Abalone Cove...can see the top of the Wayfarers Chapel bell tower, Portuguese Bend Nursery School, Palos Verdes Heritage Castle Museum (and on top of the hill you can see a pair of large round buildings that house long-range radar used by the FAA)
Last touch of sun is visible atop the palm tree at the edge of Terranea Resort
Sundown within view of Santa Catalina Island and Terranea Resort
Last full moon of 2020 rises
This is the "Cold Moon"...and it is damn cold this evening
Smartphone pic of moonrise on my DSLR
Jupiter and Saturn aren't low enough in the sky to include Terranea...yet. Am I patient enough to wait?
I can see Jupiter in this smartphone pic, but not Saturn
Terranea at twilight
