Valerie just survived another session of Bikram Yoga and needs food (and desires Bánh Mì) badly...so I head to Sawtelle crossing fingers that the Phamish (the third Vietnamese truck to visit Santa Monica) is still there

I rush home with two Lemongrass Pork Bánh Mì for Valerie. This makes her very happy. I already ate, so I do not get to try Phamish on this day (Valerie is saving the other sandwich for lunch tomorrow)

A perfectly timed stop on Sawtelle en route to pick up Valerie from the airport. Nothing says "Welcome Home" like Bánh Mì from a food truck!

Even though I have already eaten dinner, I order two sandwiches from this truck because I have yet to try theirs. The question is, will Valerie let me have the other one for lunch tomorrow? I should have ordered three! BTW, Nom Nom Truck was in between Phamish and where I parked. If Nom Nom didn't have a line, I would have picked up a couple sandwiches from their truck so we could have done a taste test.

Both Phamish and Nom Nom ran out of baguettes before I reached them on Sawtelle tonight, so my craving for Bánh Mì went unfulfilled this week. This forced me to try some new items on Phamish's truck: Goi Cuon Tom and Grilled Pork Bún

Phamish also was out of Shrimp Spring Rolls...but, when they saw my disappointment, they asked if I wouldn't mind if they used grilled (rather than the usual steamed) shrimp instead. $5 seems like a lot for just two rolls, the rice paper wrap is a bit too thick and tough for my liking, but I did like the spiciness of their fish sauce.

I like the size and overall taste of their pork rice noodle bowl, but, like Mandoline Grill, they use a thick rice vermicelli noodle than is typical. I think I prefer Manodline Grill's Bún (I had it for lunch on Tuesday)

Once again, I stop by the food trucks on Sawtelle on my way home from work

One of my coworkers tried Lee's Philly just the other day and was not impressed with their Korean Philly Cheesesteak

Bringing home Bánh mì from Phamish is becoming our Friday routine...

...as is bringing an extra sandwich or two for lunch or, in this case, a snack on Saturday

Phamish finally comes to truck alley and they get the best parking spot (closest to the Water Garden)

They must have arrived early because there are 7 or 8 other trucks here

Inspired by my coworkers, I order two bánh mì today, chicken for now, steak for later. This is my first time having the chicken...and it is surprisingly good. It really brings the heat! I also have to give props to Phamish for matching Nom Nom's price for iced coffee when using the reusable tumbler.

I save the steak for dinner. This is only the second time I have opted for the steak over the pork...and I may actually prefer it. Tomorrow, I'll have to get the pork :D
