Today I have met up with Andy for lunch at I-naba in Torrance. Funny thing is have gotten together with my former boss about as many times DURING the pandemic as I had over the previous decade. We've both ordered the deluxe tempura special...and Andy requested their eel special (imported from Japan).

Lunch starts with a small salad

Not the greatest sashimi, but still satisfies someone who has eaten very little sashimi or sushi since the start of the pandemic.

The eel special is a meal into itself, so Andy encourages me to sample. It's very good...not too sweet.

Mixed tempura...especially good when dipped in the curry salt

Cold soba noodles...perfect for a day like today

Sesame ice cream...kind of an unnecessary finish to our meal given that part of my reason for getting together with Andy is so I can sample more of his excellent homemade gelato!

On my way home I picked up a thing

Vegan Matcha Almond

Triple Chocolate Cloud...apparently the rotating ingredient in this particular batch is gluten-free Oreos

Double Mint Oreo is the flavor that Andy has been saving for me for a few months...so glad he has a really deep freezer!
