One of my high school friends is currently in Da Nang, Vietnam. She posted a photo of a bowl of Bún bò Huế on Facebook earlier this morning. That's all it takes to make Valerie crave a bowl...so we headed to Da Nang too, LOL.
Ngu Binh, also in Little Saigon, is our usual go-to spot for the spicy lemon grass beef soup from Vietnam's central region, but Valerie wanted to try Tràng Tien because it has a higher Yelp rating.
We meet Khanh here for lunch. He orders a couple of appetizers including Bánh Ít Ram. This fried treat has the consistency of mochi
I don't think it is possible for us to visit a restaurant specializing in food from Central Vietnam without ordering Bánh Bèo
Legit Bún bò Huế, spicy beefy goodness to warm us on a cold-ish winter day
Bún bò Huế with the usual toppings
Khanh and I both drove our Teslas, but I parked a bit further away from the chaos in a quiet corner of a neighboring parking lot. That said, Khanh spotted a half dozen Model 3s in the parking lot of the restaurant. Shields up!
