Valerie, Peter, and I check out Pho Hue Oi, a new Hue-style Vietnamese restaurant that has opened in North Redondo, not far from my office. We have high hopes that this place is legit because their first location is in Orange County.
So meta
Bánh bèo is one of Valerie's favorites...this place's version is legit
Decent chả giò, but still not on the level of our favorite place in Little Saigon
Valerie's Bún Thịt Nướng Tôm Chả Giò looks really good
JUNE - Valerie and I pay a second visit to Pho Hue Oi...Johnny finally has some competition, but this place is much smaller than Saigon Dish
I forgot to take a photo of my Bún bò Huế during our first visit. It was really good...so Valerie has ordered it this time.
Bún bò Huế post veg, but pre-greens
Of course, this time I have Bún Thịt Nướng Tôm Chả Giò. If you haven't already noticed, Valerie and I have a tendency to swap orders on subsequent visits.
Valerie and I continue to eat our way down Pho Hue Oi's menu
Ironically, today is the first tim we are trying their pho...Valerie gets it with meatballs
I get the Pho Tai...and Valerie lets me have one of her meatballs. A solid bowl.
Valerie and I return to Pho Hue Oi, definitely our favorite local option for a Vietnamese fix
We are both craving bánh mì today...and these are actually quite good. Since I had pork last time, I decide to try the beef. It's a solid option as well, but I still prefer the pork.
