After braving holiday weekend traffic on the 5 and driving slower-than-usual on one of my favorite canyon roads (not nearly as fun in my SUV), Valerie, Cheryl, mom, and I arrive at a ranch located near Lake Hughes
This is Shadowland Foundation, a wolf sanctuary...and we're here to meet wolves!
Cheryl, mom, and Valerie look excited to be here
Yellow roses
We are the first to arrive at the ranch. Colette, the co-founder of Shadowland Foundation, appears to be setting up some kind of presentation.
This is a non-profit organization dedicated to wolf education, but keeping a pack of wolves healthy and happy obviously requires money
I set my exposure since I am not sure what this presentation will encompass. If they bring wolves in here, I want to be ready.
Mom and Cheryl take a seat in the front row
Valerie has been excited about checking out this place since her friend Natalie visited and posted pictures
Colette, Shadowland Foundation's co-founder, begins her presentation. "Educate not eradicate" is their organization's motto.

Cochise is ready for us to pet him
Oh yeah, that's the spot!
Ooooh
Are we here as guests or to be their masseuses?
