This is the first time our Civic has seen snow (actually, it's the first time I've ever driven in snow). It was snowing when we arrived at Mammoth Mountain during the early hours of March 23rd...and we learned how important it is to put chains on as the car started to slide backwards as we attempted to drive up the snow-covered road leading to the condo. We should have known better considering that the car sounds like it is working really hard whenever we drive up any hill with a full load of passengers.
By sunrise, nearly a foot had fallen! Now we must dig our Civic out from under all of that powder.
Civic has been washed, but overspray from the recent painting of our townhouse complex is clearly still visible on the hood
Here's a close up of the overspray on the roof
Valerie is still drying the car
I have applied the claybar to half of the roof...and it has made a HUGE difference! You can clearly see where the overspray still persists.
As I continue to use the claybar on the roof, I become more of a believer
The roof is done
Even close up, the Civic's roof now looks and FEELS nearly flawless
After applying wax, the roof is buttery smooth and the paint has an even deeper gloss...nearly as good as new!
It took a few hours to go over the whole car with claybar and wax, but the complete detailing has been worth it
It's almost a shame that we are selling her now, but we now have no reason to keep her
For a brief period of time we can say we own the full range of Honda vehicles from the inexpensive Civic to the top-of-the-line NSX
Sorted by size...the NSX is just slightly shorter than the Civic, but quite a bit lower
That said, the NSX is wider than the Civic by over 4 inches
Of course, the Pilot, which will be my daily driver from this point forward, is significantly larger in all dimensions
