Following Sunday's track event, Mark (NSX-Ster), Amy, Valerie and I check out of our San Rafael hotels and head south on the 101
Unfortunately, we encounter slow-moving traffic long before the Golden Gate Bridge and all the way through San Francisco
MONDAY: We arrived at the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay well past sunset, so I must wait until morning to take pics of the hotel and our cars
After sleeping in on Monday morning, Mark and I have the valet deliver our cars directly to our neighboring rooms
Of course, this is only possible because we're staying in the bungalows rather than the main hotel
While taking an afternoon stroll around the hotel, I bump into Amy and Mark
They have been enjoying this Five-Star hotel's relaxing spa and amazing view
Valerie and I also love this property and all of its amenities (this is our second time staying here). Click here for more photos of this stay in Half Moon Bay
TUESDAY: Before we go our separate ways, Mark and I take pictures of our cars in the hotel's porte cochere
Apparently, Half Moon Bay's big pumpkin festival is this weekend
Yesterday, Valerie and I came across the site of the Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off on Main Street, but the competition had already taken place
After leaving Main Street, we followed trucks carrying large pumpkins...all the way back to the hotel!
Since we're eager to see Monterey, this is the only place we stop
After walking around Monterey for much of the day, we return to the NSX for the famous 17 Mile Drive
The NSX blends nicely with the spectacular coastline, densely wooded golf courses, free roaming wildlife, and expensive homes
My Japanese car rests near China Rock
When the sun starts to set, we pick up the pace so we can see the main points of interest
Judging by the light, I figure that the Ghost Tree will be our last photo op of the drive
However, there's still enough light to take a shot from Shepherd's Knoll
And the sun is still above the horizon one stop later (BTW, I have a full album of photos from the drive that do not feature my NSX)
WEDNESDAY: In the morning, we continue our coastline trek towards Big Sur
Much of the drive is accompanied by fog
In some spots, the fog drifts over Pacific Coast Highway like a tunnel
Valerie puts drops in her eyes before we contine south
