DAY 0 - Early Wednesday morning near the 405 in Culver City, Valerie, Sylvia, Phil (SILLYNSX) and Dean (hashiriya) wait for Jon
Valerie has done an amazing job packing the NSX for our 9 day trip
I can't resist bringing my video mount
We stop for breakfast at an IHOP in Valencia, figuring it would give Alex V (GruppeMUSA) a chance to catch up with us, but apparently Alex just woke up
A closer shot of our caravan (Jon's, Phil's, Dean's, and mine)
From left-to-right, Valerie, Dean, Jon, Phil, and Sylvia
Despite driving solo, Dean's packing spills into his passenger seat
Valerie shows off her new shades
We stop for gas at the Chevron near Harris Ranch
Not even halfway there and our cars are already filthy
While our group takes a stretch and snack break, a couple of wide-eyed teenagers from Oregon approach us. They're blown away by how many NSXs rest before them (imagine how they'd feel at NSXPO)
The 5 certainly is not pretty, but it is very direct and thankfully uneventful. The most excitement came when a weird crop-dusting helicopter contraption flew near our cars over the freeway median (my V1 went crazy)
Alex, who is trailering his NSX behind his SUV, is too far back, so we decide to not wait for him
Our NSXs are the only interesting thing to see for much of the drive
Valerie snaps a shot of Phil and Sylvia
As we continue northward, we come across an accident scene
There are a couple of huge gashes on the trailer (looks like it caught fire too)
I'm glad that wasn't me
We make our way through Bay Area traffic on the 580 and then cross the San Rafael Bridge (for some reason, everyone wants me to lead the caravan to the hotel)
After getting a little lost, I successfully get us to our destination - the Embassy Suites in San Rafael
There's a waterfall in the center of the hotel...not something you want to see or hear after being stuck in a car for several hours.
As with all of Valerie and my vacations, I have to take pics of our accommodations
