DAY 1 - We're on our first Mammoth trip of 2005
Val already is having fun...
...and loving the weather
It's so hot, I decide to take a break in the shade
Life is good
DAY 2 - Val and I decide to try the Village Gondola
We didn't take it once last season
It beats riding the shuttle all the way to Main Lodge
And it is easier than looking for parking at Little Eagle
Can you tell we're enjoying the ride?
We descend towards our destination - Canyon Lodge
We head straight up Canyon Express...
...ready to squeeze a run in before hooking up with my coworker Paul and his brother Kent
Paul snaps a shot of us at the top. Note that we're only wearing shirts today! Temperatures are in the low 50's, there's no wind, and the snow conditions are awesome...it doesn't get better than this!
Whoops...looks like Paul's burger will be extra well done
In the evening, we join Kent and Paul at Dublin's
DAY 4 - I take a panoramic shot from Upper-Downhill. Though the forecast is for mostly cloudy skies with increasing winds and at least a 10 degree drop in temperature, we find weather as nice as our first three days on the mountain (NOTE: I forgot to bring my camera on Sunday)
Valerie heads "Downhill"
Finally, clouds start to roll in
Today we stick close to Canyon Lodge...just taking it easy (four days is a day too long)
This typically crowded intersection is practically empty today
Valerie starts another run from Canyon Express
