Time for a night out...to celebrate on the eve of our 19th anniversary
Tonight, Valerie and I have reservations at Providence
There is one other couple within this section of the restaurant when we arrive...we like our corner
After much debate, we agree that we should go with the signature and seasonal menu
Our first amuse bouche: Champagne "Bubble". Consume the contents of the spoon all at once for an explosion of flavor. Our meal is off to a great start!
Smoked Salmon on Wasabi "Snow"
Watermelon Soup to chase down the salmon
Our first a la carte item...6 oysters, 3 types
First course, Part 1: Tuna Sashimi - coconut, rhubarb, macademia nut, heart of palm
First course, Part 2: Tuna Tartare in Radish Wrap with Mayo Yuzu
Valerie and my bread selections: Brioche x2, Seaweed Focaccia, Sourdough Roll. These fine examples of baked goodness were served with butter from Normandy and sea salt. The brioche did not need any butter...it was delicious on its own!
The Ugly Bunch - assorted shellfish, smoked crème fraîche panna cotta
Santa Barbara Spot Prawn - légumes d'été
Foie Gras & Porcini - cannelloni, Australian black truffle, parmesan
